July 24 Kilimanjaro Climb & Safari

Thanks for your patience regarding the details for the July 24, 2006 Kilimanjaro trek and safari. Given the high interest level, we have been working hard to secure all the appropriate guides and hotels. All of our plans look good. We just need a final confirmation from you!

The total cost for the 7day/6 night Kilimanjaro climb and the 3 day/2 night safari is $2230. This includes just about everything – except your plane ticket, tips, alcohol and any of the amazing carvings or Tanzanite you want to bring home. Not to sell ourselves anymore, but if you look at almost any other comparable company, you will see that our prices are very affordable.

We are going to take the first 15 people that put a $500 deposit for this trip. Right now we have about six people signed up, so we have spots for 9 more people. If you have any friends or family that are interested, please let them know. This is going to be a once in a life-time adventure.

Anyone who doesn’t put down a deposit by March 15 is subject to a possible higher trip package. The law of supply and demand is in full effect in Tanzania and if we don’t book early, the space that is left can be more expensive.

The outline of the trip is as follows:
July 23 – Meet at hotel, briefing
July 24 – Begin Climb -Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkumbwa
July 25 – Mti Mkumbwa to Shira 2 Camp
July 26 – Shira Two Camp to Barranco Hut
July 27 – Barranco Hut to Karanga Valley
July 28 – Karanga Valley to Barafu Hut
July 29 – Summit Day – Barafu Camp to the Summit/Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp
July 30 – Mweka Camp to Gate, back to hotel
July 31 – Tarangire National Park
August 1 – Tarangire National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
August 2 – Ngorongoro Crater to Moshi

Now that all of the business formalities have been described, I want to get to good inspirational stuff – why you should go to Africa, climb the highest mountain and head out in search of the wildebeest migration. Traveling in Tanzania is a life-changing experience. It’s life at its purest, raw form. Despite what you have read about Africa, the people of Tanzania are happy, friendly and willing to show you their country. The common greeting is “Karibu Mwangu,” which means “welcome my child.” This is a once-in-a lifetime experience to not only explore a little part of Tanzania, but to interact with locals and to explore the best safari parks of Africa. If you are ready for this experience, we want to show you the way.
